Snow & Ice Management

Safeguard People & Property

We live in an area of the country that experiences all four seasons – sometimes all in the same day. At Love Landscaping, we have made a considerable investment in liquid de-icing technology not commonly used in this area, but incredibly useful for treating parking lots and sidewalks. Love Landscaping is a proud member of the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) and the Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA).

Minimize Business Disruptions

Snow and ice management services include:

  • Parking lot clearing and de-icing
  • Sidewalk clearing and de-icing
  • Commercial snow plowing and shoveling
  • Snow haul-away services
  • Liquid and granular de-icing services

Maximize response times

Our crews are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, monitoring ever-changing weather conditions day and night. We do not sub out any of our work, and all our crews and equipment are tracked in real-time.

Brine Application

Love Grounds Maintenance is proud to be one of the only high-volume brine application companies in the greater Cincinnati area.

Brine vs. Rock Salt

Brine Works Faster

Liquids work faster which means getting the lot down to bare pavement much more quickly (typically 3-4x faster than rock salt alone. This faster clear time can aid in preventing very costly “slip and fall” accident claims.

Great for Preventative Application

Liquids prevent the bond of ice and snow to the pavement by pre-treating lots. This prevention of bonding increases machine traction for clearing, requires less product after mechanical removal to achieve clean and dry, and helps prevent refreeze (which can become a major liability).

Reduces Janitorial costs

Liquid means reduced janitorial costs. Liquids do not track in and make a huge mess like rock salt, ice melt and even calcium chloride pellets. Janitorial staff will be able to attest to this almost immediately once a liquid conversion is made on sidewalks and lot areas near entrances.

Environmentally friendly

Liquids are better for the environment. Liquids provide as much as 75% chloride application reduction. Don’t forget that the liquid does not scatter and stays where you put it, as opposed to salt that tracks away, blows away, and gets plowed into vegetation and storm drains. This also means no winter kill on grass and other landscaping when spring comes around.

Works in Lower Temperatures

Liquids are adaptable. Liquids can work to lower temperatures by blending with additives. Therefore, liquids can melt off parking lots in temperatures that rock salt would not work at all.

Better for Concrete & Asphalt

Liquids are better for concrete and asphalt. Liquids have a lower corrosion factor (80% less corrosive than rock salt). We experience almost no freeze/thaw cycles when we use liquid with an additive such as Headwaters HOT from Pelican Chemical.

PNS Certified

Liquids have PNS Certification for bridge decks and parking structures. These lower corrosion values protect expensive structural assets like door frames, light poles, and veneers including brick, stone, and metal siding material.
